Introduction:
- Incorporated on 16th January, 1920 as a subsidiary of Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd.
- B And R became a CPSE in September 1972.
- In May 2008, the administrative control of B AND R was transferred directly to Ministry of Heavy Industries.
- The Company is currently a Miniratna Category-I and Schedule ‘B’ CPSE under Ministry of Heavy Industries.
- It is One Source Multi-discipline Design, Engineering, Construction, EPC Solutions and Project Management Consultancy.
- The Corporate Office is located at Kolkata.
Pan India presence: Bridge And Roof has around 120 project locations with Zonal (6 nos.) / Regional and Project Offices (4 nos.) across the country for ease of Project Monitoring and Control.
Performance: The Company’s has achieved its highest Turnover of Rs. 3328.35 Crores during FY:2022-23. PBT has also grown to Rs. 56.65 in FY:2022-23.
Services: Bridge And Roof is a ‘Total Solutions’ conglomerate for providing Design, Engineering and Construction Services through various modes of contract such as EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), Unit Rate Contract and Open Book Estimate (OBE), PMC (Project Management Consultancy) from ‘Concept to Commissioning’ whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Achievements/ Projects:
- Business Development and Diversification: Business Development measures in order to increase its business volume and profitability have resulted in highest ever Order Booking during FY:2022-23 with Orders in Hand of around Rs. 17,500 Cr. at present. Company has diversified into Flue-gas-Desulfurization (FGD) System on EPC basis to curb emission of greenhouse gases and remove sulphur-dioxide from exhaust flue-gases in thermal power plants. The Company has also diversified into various other fields such as Solar Energy projects, Aviation Fuel Farm Facility, Water Supply Network, etc.
