Development Council for Automobiles and Allied Industries (DCAAI)

In exercise of the power conferred by section 6 of the Industries (Development & Regulation) Act, 1952 (65 of1951) read with rules 2, 3, 4 & 5 of the Development Council (Procedural) Rules 1952, the Department of Heavy Industry has constituted Development Council for Automobiles and Allied Industries (DCAAI) under the chairmanship of Secretary (Heavy Industry). The DCAAI consists of 25 members including the Chairman and the memberSecretary. The Additional Secretary/Joint Secretary, in charge of Automobile Engineering Industry (AEI) division in the Department, is the Member-Secretary of DCAAI.

The Development Council utilises the Cess fund allocated to Department of Heavy Industry's annual budget to promote R&D Project in Automobile & Allied industries. The Council meets at least twice a year to discuss issues related to the development of auto sector.
