  • Incorporated in 1935;
  • Became a “Central Public Sector Enterprise” in 1987 as subsidiary of erstwhile Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Limited(BBUNL). Later BBJ merged with BBUNL and the merged entity was renamed as BBJ in 2015.
  • A schedule ‘C’ company and fully owned by Government of India through Ministry of Heavy Industries, BBJ is a profit making and dividend paying CPSE.
  • Registered office of BBJ is located in Kolkata.

  • BBJ is credited with construction of “Howrah Bridge” in 1935; since then BBJ constructed numerous Bridges for Indian Railway pan India.
  • Presently constructing Railway Bridges in Manipur, Mizoram, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
  • BBJ is a pioneer in Railway Steel Bridge construction since inception. BBJ is totally committed to the Quality, Performance & Safety requirements of the public infrastructure.
